AI Design System Workshop

Client: Swedish bank
Type of project: AI Workshop
Role: AI Experience Designer
Year: 2026

The design system team at a major Swedish bank had real friction in their daily work. Requests coming in through too many channels. Needs captured too late. Documentation no one fully trusted. Components being built before requirements were clear.

They knew something needed to change. They reached out to run a session together.

The approach
I led the workshop together with a colleague at Valtech. We mapped six concrete friction areas the team dealt with every day, ran prioritization exercises to find where to focus, and translated the highest-priority problems into AI opportunity areas.

Three prototype briefings came out of the day: one for capturing component requirements earlier in the process, one for connecting incoming requests to existing components, and one for generating consistent documentation on demand.

Outcome
The team left with a shared map of their process and three specific directions to prototype. Not a list of AI possibilities, but briefings grounded in the friction they had described themselves.

This is the diagnostic layer of the work: walking into an enterprise design team, understanding how they actually operate, and translating that into AI interventions specific enough to act on. That work has to happen before any tool gets built.
